It is with great sadness that we hear of the passing of Manina Terzidou, Head of the Greek Reitox national focal point (NFP). Manina was a long-time colleague and companion of the EMCDDA and made a huge contribution to our work.
Manina collaborated with the agency for over 20 years as Head of the NFP, located at the University Mental Health Research Institute (UMHRI) in Athens. Over these years, Ms Terzidou played a crucial role in establishing the Greek and EU drug information systems. She also offered invaluable support to the EMCDDA in implementing its technical cooperation projects with third countries, notably in Turkey and the Western Balkans under the Instrument for Pre-Accession (IPA) programme.
Manina was brilliant, dynamic, determined and very passionate about her work. This passion, together with her integrity, wit and warmth, inspired her colleagues at both national and European levels, and made her a true pillar of the Reitox network.
Manina will always remain in our hearts and the EMCDDA will miss her greatly. Our most sincere condolences go to her family, friends and colleagues.
