Lisbon Addictions is back! Registration and call for abstracts open today

EUROPEAN CONFERENCE ON ADDICTIVE BEHAVIOURS AND DEPENDENCIES

Leading international experts in the field of addiction science will gather in Lisbon from 23–25 November 2022 for the next European Conference on Addictive Behaviours and Dependencies (‘Lisbon Addictions 2022’). Under the overarching theme of Global Addictions, the event will showcase the latest scientific knowledge in this domain and explore challenges relating to illicit drugs, alcohol, tobacco, screen addiction, gambling and other addictive behaviours. 

The event, to take place at the Lisbon Congress Centre, is organised by: the Portuguese General-Directorate for Intervention on Addictive Behaviours and Dependencies (SICAD); the European Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction (EMCDDA); the journal Addiction/Society for the Study of Addiction (Addiction/SSA); and the International Society of Addiction Journal Editors (ISAJE).

Lisbon Addictions 2022 will present cutting-edge research to help characterise, understand and respond to addiction and addictive behaviours today. Topics will be explored from a variety of angles, from international policies and interventions, to innovative methods and human rights.

The event will include keynote speeches, presentations from globally renowned researchers as well as rapid communications, thematic sessions, workshops, e-poster sessions, side-events and a video contest.

Registration and the call for abstracts open today. Potential contributors (e.g. researchers, scientists, practitioners) may submit abstracts for the following thematic tracks:

  • Global perspectives on addictions and drug markets
  • Prevention cultures
  • Alcohol dependence and problems
  • Addictions and mental health
  • Hepatitis C, other infectious diseases and drug-related harms
  • Behavioural addictions
  • Current and future challenges in global drug policy
  • Open track (for abstracts not fitting into the above)
