EMCDDA workshop on mortality cohort studies

On 24 March, the EMCDDA brings together more than twenty European experts for a meeting on the mortality component of the key indicator Drug-related deaths. The meeting provides a space for sharing and discussing new studies and experiences at city/regional, national and European level. It also aims to facilitate technical work around mortality cohort studies, in order to prepare an overview of mortality among people who are using drugs in the EU and to find possibilities to support initiatives in this field. A current EMCDDA project aims to make mortality cohort studies more usable and visible for policy makers.

The progresses of the project will be discussed during the meeting and participating experts from selected countries will present their work and discuss their experience setting up and managing mortality cohort studies.
