EMCDDA treatment strategy

Introduction

The EMCDDA treatment strategy provides a coherent strategic framework for data collection on treatment responses to drug use in Europe. Resulting from cross-unit collaboration in 2010–12, it offers a common conceptual framework which brings together reporting mechanisms and tools developed in different thematic areas, such as: treatment systems; availability and access to treatment; and treatment need and demand. Guiding the agency’s mid- and long-term objectives, the strategy aims to ensure that maximum analytical value is derived from all aspects of treatment monitoring and to enhance the role of the agency in the dissemination of best practice.
